So i read the faq on the cycom and didnt really get the answer i was looking for. Here are my questions

Can i just ditch it?

What can i replace it with? Will putting an acewell guage or something in its place work?

As far as the adjustable bars... what are you guys doing with these things? Can i just unbolt them and bore out the holes like on an xj? I want to run some pro taper dirt bike bars btw.

You can un-plug the cycom and the bike will still start and run ... I just did that yesterday . As far as the Handle bars yes you can remove the bars , remove the bolts underneath and the whole splined shaft thing comes off . But if you still need the mount for the cycom you'll have to cut off the splined part and punch out the bolt in order to put the riser bolts through ..I just did all that yesterday , but for now Ihave to keep the cycom .

I know that it has been done , If you search you'll find wiring diagrams etc , The speedo has to be 2:1 ratio , but other than that , I'm not that far along yet .

Roger, your post will help me as well. I have 2 stupid questions as I am new to this. 1 what did you use to cut off the splines? I am assuming an angle grinder with cutting discs. Also how did you punch out the bolts.

Thanks

Your right a angle grinder , with cut off wheel and the once I cut off the splinded part I just punched out the studs with a hammer and drift punch
