#4:   Author: murftoe,  Posted: Mon Jul 26, 2010 6:25 pm i am sorry its a 1982 virago and yes it has no gears as i was driving i lost all of it.. pushed bike the rest of the way to work. was able to rock the bike back and forth and get it into one of the gears but, not sure what one

#5:  Re: 920 virago 1984 Author: jovanavichs,  Posted: Wed Jul 28, 2010 4:02 pm This post is a bit confusing where you state that the bike lost its gears and then you go on about pistons and coils. If you lost all your ability to shift gears up or down, you are looking into pulling off the left side engine cover. Before doing that though, make sure that the splines on the shifter shaft are not stripped. If your shifter lever is stripped, you will need a new shifter lever. If your lever is not stripped, then you will need to remove the left side engine cover to see if the linkage inside the engine is damaged. Keep us posted and post pics of your progress!
